Report my card lost, stolen or damaged

If you think your debit card or any of your card details, such as your PIN may have been stolen, you should report it to us to avoid the possibility of fraud.

You can now instantly report your card as lost, stolen or damaged through yourmobile app. Simply open the app,tap on the account that your card is linked to and select 'Manage my card' to see your options.

You can also report your card by logging in to Online Banking or chat to us online.

Once you’ve reported your debit card as stolen, we will send out your new card, which will be with you in 5 working days.

A Direct Debit is an agreement between you and the organisation you’re paying, which allows the organisation you want to pay to collect varying amounts from your account – but only if you’ve been given advanced notice of the amounts and dates of collection.

View or cancel a Direct Debit


You can easily view or cancel a Direct Debit via ourmobile appor through yourOnline Banking.

While you can’t set up a Direct Debit without the input of the people you are paying, you can view and cancel your Direct Debit directly with us.

You have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due to cancel.

Using my debit card abroad

Register your travel details with NatWest at least 24 hours before your trip, and we'll do our best to ensure your holiday spending isn't affected at all.

Let us know you will be using your card abroad

If you have ourmobile app, it’s easy to let us know you are going to use your debit card abroad.

Simply go to the app, tap on the account that your card is linked to, select 'Manage my card' and then select ‘Going Abroad’ to register your trip.

You can register one trip at a time. It can include up to seven countries and last 90 days. Register each country you are visiting. The marker will apply to all debit cards in your name. Joint account holders should register separately.

If you've misplaced your debit card, or want to stop it from being used, you can temporarily freeze your card to protect it from unauthorised use. You can freeze and unfreeze your card at any time using yourmobile app.

Make a transfer or payment

You can make payments or transfers on the go by logging in to ourmobile app. Using your mobile app you can:

  • Pay someone new* up to £1000 without a card reader.
  • Pay saved payees, up to £20,000.
  • Create, amend and cancel regular payments.

*There is a maximum of 5 payments totalling £1000 per day. You must be aged 16 or over.

New to NatWest?

If you're new to NatWest, we'll post your Contactless Debit Card and PIN separately within a few days of opening your account. Once your card arrives we'll explain how you can use it.

Already a NatWest customer?

If you’re already a NatWest customer and have recently changed your account, there’s no need to set up your card. You get to keep your existing card and PIN.

You will receive a Contactless Debit Card as standard when your existing card requires replacing, or if you're a new customer at account opening. If you don't want to wait, please pop into your local branch or call us on 0345 366 0012 (Relay UK: 18001 0345 366 0012).

Our accessible debit card

We provide all our personal and premier customers with an accessible debit card.

It’s been specially designed to be easier to use, especially if you have accessibility needs. The card has several features:

  • A notch carved out of the side of the card, to help you work out which way round to insert your card into a cash machine or card reader.
  • A series of raised dots or lines, so you’ll know which card is your NatWestcard.
  • Telephone numbers on the back of the card are 50% larger to make reading easier.
